Capitalize on the fun! Join us in Washington, D.C., for the 70th Annual Key Club International Convention, July 1–7, 2013! Many attractions are either free or charge a small admission. Here are a few to check out: 

Must-see monuments: Check out the Washington Monument, Capitol Building (right), Pentagon and the Jefferson, Lincoln and Martin Luther King Jr. memorials while you’re in town. 

Cool collecting: Want to see how money is made? Check out the Bureau of Printing and Engraving to see paper transformed into the dollar bills you see today. If stamps are more your thing, visit the Postal Museum to see stamps from as early as the 1800s. 

Secret sleuths: Crime-solving isn’t always like “CSI.” Experience what real-life crime-scene investigations are like, simulate a high-speed police chase and take a look inside a crime lab at the Crime Museum. Get a real look into the lives of spies at the International Spy Museum. Learn to spot a liar, see spy technology up close and find out about some of history’s most famous double agents. 

Animal kingdom: Take a trip to the Smithsonian National Zoo, where you can see giant pandas (left), Amazonian tropical forest animals and more—for free.

Celestial sights: Tour the Milky Way for free at the planetarium in Rock Creek Park. If that doesn’t satisfy your appetite for the skies and stars, spend some time at the National Space and Air Museum. You’ll see the Wright Brothers’ 1903 Flyer, compete in a paper airplane contest and even touch a piece of lunar rock!
